Who runs Coachline
I'm Max Schneider and I run Coachline (address in the Impressum). These terms apply when you play Coachline or buy Match Packs. If you have questions, you can reach me at hello@playcoachline.com.
Matches and your Account
A match is one game of football in which you coach your team by chat, from the Dressing Room to the final whistle.
It is deducted from your matches left as soon as the AI is first used in it. If you leave before that, it costs you nothing.
When you sign up, you get one Free Match. It is per person: several addresses that reach the same inbox count as one. You can buy more matches in Match Packs. A Match Pack holds a set number of matches; you see the number and the price before you buy. Your matches don't expire.
If a match breaks off because the AI stops answering, you get it back.
You can delete your Account at any time. Your remaining matches are then lost, and their price is not refunded.
Buying and paying
You buy Match Packs directly from me; Stripe handles the payment. The contract is made as soon as you complete the payment on Stripe's payment page.
All prices are final prices. As a small business under § 19 UStG, I don't charge VAT.
Withdrawal and refunds
Before you pay, you expressly agree that I start performing the contract before the withdrawal period ends. You also confirm that you know you lose your right of withdrawal once performance begins.
Performance begins as soon as your payment has come through. I then add the matches to your Account and send you a confirmation by email. With that, your right of withdrawal ends. The details are on the Right of withdrawal page.
Apart from the cases named in these terms, I don't refund purchased matches. Your statutory rights if the matches are defective (§§ 327 ff. BGB) are not affected.
The characters are AI
The players, the rival coach, the referee and the commentator are AI characters. Their answers are generated automatically. They can be wrong, odd or surprising, and they don't reflect my opinion.
Fair use
Use Coachline as it is meant to be used: as a game. Please don't try to trick Coachline or the AI, get harmful content out of the AI, get around the limit on your matches, or overload the site.
If you seriously abuse the site, or carry on after a warning, I may block or close your Account for good cause (§ 314 BGB).
Availability and changes
Coachline is a small project. I can't promise that it is always available.
I keep developing Coachline, so it can change. I only change it for a valid reason, such as new features, better game balance, changed costs or technical requirements.
If I shut Coachline down, I'll refund the pro-rata price of the matches you bought and haven't played.
Liability
I am liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the Product Liability Act, and where I have given a guarantee.
For slight negligence, I am liable only if I breach an essential contractual duty. That is a duty whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on which you may regularly rely. My liability is then limited to the damage that was foreseeable when the contract was made and is typical for this contract. Otherwise, liability for slight negligence is excluded.
Applicable law
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. As a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country you live in.
